Retro Video Game Review – The Mummy (GBC)

The Mummy was released in 1999 and starred Brendan Fraser. It was a box office hit because of the great special effects, giving a twist on a classic monster, and being an overall great action movie. The success of the movie leads to sequels and even games. This particular game was created for Gameboy Color and made by Konami. Instead of being just a basic platformer, Konami decided to mix some puzzle elements, switching between characters and using their unique abilities to solve puzzles to progress. I think this is a pretty good game because the puzzles won’t take long to figure out. It also tries to keep the same flow as the movie so you don’t feel like you’re playing for nothing.
