Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side was released for Sega CD to showcase the power of the console and also to redeem the series. The cut scenes, full motion video finishing moves, and the revamped combos made this game stand toe to toe with the likes of Mortal Kombat 3 and Street Fighter Alpha. Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side (also called Eternal Champions 2) brought brutal fights and fast-paced action that was expected from a fighting game.
