Vinyl’s From The Past: 12:02 to 16:57
We are going to take a brief break for Vinyl’s from the past. In this limited run segment I will be exploring the pioneers that have shaped and influenced the EDM we have today. In this episode we will cover British Pop Music group, Yazz & The Plastic Population.

Yazz and The Plastic Population was formed in the late 80’s by Yasmin Evans and electronic music duo Coldcut. Yazz was originally working as a backup singer for various artists; she was launching her solo career working with Producer duo Coldcut. Coldcut was working on a project and created a fictional band called The Plastic Population for a series of animated videos. This later evolved into Yazz performing with them at real shows and they eventually became a real group. One of the group’s biggest hits was released in 1988 called “The Only Way Is Up”. Take a listen to it here.

“The Only Way Is Up” has  earned a place at the top of the charts in various countries such as Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. This dance-pop song featured elements of house and soul. Even today this song remains on the most popular dance anthems.

Lets take a brief break for some music news.

Australian Rapper, Songwriter and model Iggy Azalea recently sold her entire music catalog to a private equity group for eight figures. She recently revealed in an interview why so many artists are selling their catalog. According to her it’s because “ it saves a lot to pay tax once the figure” and “it gives you a larger amount to invest with , so your money is still rolling in without needing anyone to play the song”.

In other news
