Up first is Roberto Capuano. Roberto is an Italian techno DJ and producer, known for his high-energy productions, and deep basslines. Roberto’s music career started at a young age when he started training in classical piano and learning to play the guitar. He discovered electronic music in his teenage years and eventually focused on techno. Capuano is considered one of the most exciting techno artists in the scene today. “Dice Roll” is out now via Truesoul records and it’s available on all streaming platforms. Roberto has solidified  himself as an energetic force in the techno scene. With a string of EP’s, singles and collaborations with Markantonio, Joseph Capariati and Luigi Madonna. From the age of three, Meirlin has been on a musical journey that has taken her from Tokyo to California. In 2014, with a desire to continue developing her music production and mixing career, she took the plunge and moved West. Merilin’s talent of crafting an energizing mix of Trap, Future Bass, Dubstep and House music is awe-inspiring. The way she seamlessly weaves all these genres together is a testament to her unparalleled artistic skill. Here is a listen to her latest track “Music For Me”.

Vinyl’s From The Past: Phuture -14:05 to 27:06

We are taking a brief break, for our limited run series Vinyls From The Past. Here we discuss the pioneers  that were influential in shaping EDM to what it is today. In this latest segment we are featuring Chicago Group, Phuture. Formed in 1985, Phuture’s members were – Earl “Spanky” Smith Jr, Nathaniel Pierre Jones aka DJ Pierre and Herbert “Herb J” Jackson. Together they crafted a unique style of music which would later be known as acid house. The groups defining release was  “Acid Tracks”. Take a listen to it here.

“Acid Tracks” by Phuture was released in 1987 and was considered the first acid house record. Phuture was instrumental in launching acid house music and  transforming it from an underground sound to a mainstream movement during the late 1980s and early 1990s. In addition to his role as a DJ and Producer, one may be surprised to learn that Luke’s other passion is teaching. We are going to take a brief break for some music news.

Tik Tok is running tests in Australia to restrict user’s capacity to add music to their clips. Tik Tok wants to leverage a dollar value on the use of music and use the results from this test to leverage it with music publishers. Byte Dance; Tik Tok’s parent company has been trying to negotiate lower payments on music but publishers have not budged.  So now Tik Tok wants to prove that music is not as crucial as music publishers think.

In our final story, on May 12th, Columbia Records will be releasing a special 10 year anniversary edition of Daft Punk’s last studio album, Random Access Memories. This edition is guaranteed to provide fans with an exclusive listening experience; 35 minutes of unheard demos, outtakes and never before heard music. This time around the album will sound different because they will be releasing in Atmos; which is an immersive surround sound format. For those that may not remember Random Access Memories had hits like “Get Lucky”, “Instant Crush” and won multiple grammys.

Hailing from the Bergpolder area of the Netherlands, Gamma Intel is an electronic DJ and producer; who is known for his unique approach to music. Drawing influence from a variety of genres, his music stands out with its heavy industrial sound featuring distorted synths, and pounding kicks. Here is a listen to his latest track “Trust”.
