Last Tuesday night, Kesha took the stage at the Kia Forum in Inglewood to perform a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” with Chevy Metal, a covers band that was led by the Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
During her performance, Kesha had a wardrobe malfunction and overcompensated for it by singing too loudly which caused her to hemorrhage one of her vocal cords. Despite the blunder, Kesha put on an impressive show and was one of many talented singers and musicians who participated in the six-hour fundraising event in honor of late Foo Fighters drummer Hawkins who died in March at the age 50.

The sale of musical catalogs appears to be a growing trend, as evidenced by recent deals made by Phil Collins and Genesis. The two have reached a Concord-backed agreement to sell their publishing and master recordings for an estimated $300 million. This figure includes songs from Collins’ solo career, as well as his work with Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks and guitarist Mike Rutherford. Collins’ most recent release of original material was Testify in 2002. Since 1991’s We Can’t Dance, Genesis has not put out an album featuring Collins.
