Lose Fat, Lose Weight: Keto Diet

For the past three months I have been on the keto diet and I have to say, it is an interesting diet. Actually I don’t consider keto diet a diet, it is more of a lifestyle and awareness change. You have to be aware of what you eat and that’s with every diet but this one, it is more crucial.

Keto foods: meat, fish, avocado, cheese, vegetables and nuts

If you’re on a ketogenic diet, it’s crucial that you have some keto snacks to eat throughout the day. There are a number of reasons why these snacks are important. First, they will help you stay on track with your ketogenic diet. Second, they will provide your body with the fuel that it needs to stay active throughout the day. Third, and perhaps most importantly, they will help to prevent emotional eating. When it comes to keto snacks one of the most difficult things is finding those snacks that fit within the keto realm; because every snack is not considered keto.

Keto diet foods can be as simple as peanut butter, berries, and Blueberry Muffins; breakfast is perfect for this because you can bowl these up with a pudding, green smoothie, or even a sweet after dinner smoothie.

How to use Keto Snacks

Some people enjoy having peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as a keto meal; others may prefer protein bars and avocados. Some may prefer deli sandwiches with cheese and lettuce. If you are mixing up your keto snacks try to pick low glycemic index items. Foods that are high in fat are awesome and can help to combat the empty calories and sugar cravings that can come from a variety of foods. Keto snacks should be fun to make and can be super cheap to make. Boneless chicken breasts, eggs, bacon, avocado, blueberries, nut butter, and believe it or not pork rinds fit into the keto realm as well.

Food For Thought

Keto is more of a short-term diet; remember when I said in the beginning it is more about lifestyle and awareness. You have to be aware that a keto diet can cause low blood pressure and vitamin deficiencies which in turn can cause more serious health problems.
